Homemade Blu-ray wifi adapter using a laptop! - Nerdy Nerd Nerdz:: Live it, Learn it, Apply it!

Hiya kids,
First of all Id like to give thanks to my wife, because it was her who purchased the LG BD630 with Netflix and other streaming features that required a hard LAN line and but did not include WIFI capabilities. Wrong! If you follow these simple steps you can connect any Laptop with an Ethernet port to your LAN Blu-ray player. Follow my homemade blu-ray wifi adapter steps and you will be streaming Netflix in no time.

Items Required.

1. Cross over Ethernet cable , do not confuse this with a standard Ethernet cable , (There is a difference)
2. A Wifi Connection with Internet Access
3. Laptop or Net-book with a standard Ethernet port

Step 1 – Connect the crossover cable to the blu-ray player and the laptop
Step 2 – (Laptop )Open the windows control panel and select –> Network and Internet –> View Network Status and Tasks –> Change Adapter Settings

Step 3 – Select both the Wireless Connection and the Local Area Connection and select–> Bridge Connections. This step creates a bridge to share your wireless connection with your LAN Connection
Step 4… Depending on your Blu-ray Player, this process has been tested and proven to work on an LG BD630 .. locate the settings menu and select the Options –> Setup –> Network –> Connection Settings –> Connection Status. Connection should display Success. with IP Information obtained by you local DNS Server ( Internet Provider)… Be sure to allow your blu-ray player a few minutes to obtain IP configuration. I also recommend you power cycle your blu-ray player.
